The Miraestels, the floating sculptures by Robert Llimós in the Port of Barcelona, seem to fall backwards before the display of the many mega-yachts that are being repaired in the shipyard.
The Miraestels by Robert Llimós are one of the attractions of the Rambla de Mar. These floating sculptures are a representation of the human figure, 3.5 meters high, and are part of a series of variations, in sizes and materials, on this being that seems to question the sky.
With their watchful presence, the Miraestels entrust us to care for and respect the sea, especially our Mediterranean
Robert Llimós, painter and sculptor from Barcelona, pays homage to the artist Joan Brosa with these floating sculptures. Its origin is a collection of poems by Brossa that he named Saltamartí.
At first, Llimós created three different figures as an approximation to Brossa himself. The first was walking, the second was wearing her shoes, the third was looking at the sky. He remodeled the latter and made it grow in scale, as well as making it float.
In this way, the saltmarti jumps into the water transformed and renamed Miraestels, which is made of fiberglass and polyester resin from nautical vessels
